My Project
For our first real project, we were assigned to make a step-by-step instruction manual for anything we chose. The guideline was to have a minimum of ten steps and two pictures. I chose to give the steps for how to make a paper airplane. Starting off, I had very vague steps and was assuming the actions of the person whom I would be instructing. After I tested my steps, I realized that I needed to be very specific and concise.
Conclusion
When we presented our instructions, someone from the class would read them word for word, while someone else followed the instructions. My step-by-step instructions were very successful and I believe this is due to the specificness of my instructions. If I had not tested my project, it would not have been as successful. Without being straightforward and specific, it would’ve been almost impossible to complete even the easiest tasks. Someone in my class did a step-by-step instruction for tying a shoe, but they were unsuccessful because they were not clear about putting the laces on the shoe. This resulted in the lace not even being put on the shoe.
