Capstone Project
This week in Biomed we began to brainstorm our Capstone final projects. I hope to do mine on the connection of Gut health to Brain health. I plan on reaching out to Janet Rich Pittman, a certified neurological health coach. She directly studies the connection of the gut to the brain. This has always been an interesting topic to me and I cannot wait to dive deeper into this. I have broken down this topic into a few different subtopic, but I need to go over them with Mrs. McCleery. I have also continued to work on my outreach project and am very excited for it!
Lab
This week I missed our lab, but it was very interesting to me to learn about the history of braille. Braille is a system of touch reading and writing for blind persons in which raised dots represent the letters of the alphabet. It was developed by a 15-year-old boy who became blind due to an accident. This system of communication can be translated into many different languages and it can also demonstrate numbers and punctuation.
