CPR Recertification
This week was my first week back with Mrs. McCleery since Christmas break! Last week, I spent the whole week getting recertified in CPR. We watched educational videos on the importance of CPR and took a written test, which I got a perfect score on! We had to do an “infield” test, which required us to work with a partner. My partner was Madisen Gabel and we performed CPR on our adult mannequins and infant mannequins. I learned how to properly operate an AED and a bag mask. I am now recertified in CPR and will be for the next two years.
Germs!
This week, we prepared a demonstration for the kids at St. James Episcopal about the dangers of germs. We prepared multiple different demonstrations of how germs spread and operate. We taught them how to properly wash their hands, by using lotion with glitter in it to show how germs stick. They weren’t able to get them all off using just cold water or paper towels. This taught them the importance of washing their hands with warm water and for the proper amount of time. They then were able to create thier own “germs” from craft materials we prepared beforehand. I made my own, her name was Germy, as a demonstration for them. Overall, this was a lot of fun to prepare for them and I will be going down to our Japonica Campus to help teach our own younger students.
